Kinnara Cinema is a motion picture production studio founded by two passionate brothers who are dedicated to supporting the grassroots British film industry. We collaborate with writers, directors, and emerging on-screen talents to bring their unique stories to life and showcase the best of British creative potential. Our mission is to develop the infrastructure that empowers artists to unleash their creativity without limitations.
Film & Celestial Music
Kinnara (किन्नर) is a term rooted in the history of our Indian cultural roots. In some senses the term translates to “edge” and with our combined network and business experience it is this edge that we hope to provide to the best and brightest in the industry. Yet in other deeper traditions Kinnara are seen as mythical two body figures described as celestial choristers and musicians, and thus our company is an ode to the arts and they bring.
The theme of two body figures also touches upon our own shared histories as individuals born and raised in the UK, but with South Asia roots, and how in todays world such a balancing act of heart and heritage becomes ever more challenging. We face a world of increasing nationalism yet it is our belief that for all cultures, cinema/film play a unique and increasingly important role in transcending boundaries and hatred. Reminding us that all stories are important, and that all stories of love and hope can be shared if they are told well. Our mission is to help those dreamers tell us their visions as best they can.
